Marilla: Now, you come downstairs and see if a good cup of tea and some of those plum puffs I made today don’t hearten you.
Anne Shirley: (sobbing) Plum puffs won’t minister to a mind diseased in a world that’s crumbled into pieces!
Marilla: Well I’m glad to see that your dented spirits haven’t injured your tongue.

You will have to read this morning’s post first for that to make sense. We did take my car in for repair. It’s still at the shop. And we did go for lunch. I had a grilled BLT from a local bakery. And a chocolate croissant. I may be depressed but I am not insane. A chocolate croissant would melt the surliness of most people.
But this did cheer me up. I found it at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
It was a CD cabinet that I repurposed for the last of the few little knick knacks I have. A penguin my daughter made. A little angel from my son when he got his first job.
There is also a little candle holder that my husband and gave me when we were first dating. Isn’t it a cute cabinet? I love it! I may paint it but I doubt it. Someone made it and did a great job. Unfortunately the picture quality is horrible so you can’t see all the detail.
In the same store I found a different light fixture because the Holly Hobby one was making me rage. So this,
And because I was throwing money around I bought two new sets of dishes. Our dishes were a mix of yours, mine and ours and I hated them. I found these on sale.
I’m not any less tired. I’m still overwhelmed. But a day away from work, even though I love my job, is nice. There is a reason that I get paid to do it. I love my chosen career but I love my days off too.
Okay. With that I am going to go put a chicken on the rotisserie. I think roasted potatoes and spinach sounds good too.
