Back at Work

Yes. I am back at work. Anxiety woke me up this morning at 4:00 and I couldn’t get back to sleep. Considering I didn’t have enough sleep I did mange to get through the day. (Oh, how I love you coffee.) We had a staff meeting today and that brings its own concern. The health authority I work for is revamping the entire care model that we have been following.  And trust me, it is a broken one. There is a reason I come home from work  physically and emotionally exhausted. The new care model sounds too good to be true but the word is it is working well in other communities. I decided to put name down for the trial beginning in June.

Poor Norbert. He goes through there stages where he scratches at the right side of his face. He is wearing the cone of shame. We are also spraying Vetericyn which is a miracle cure that every pet owner should have in their home. It works on sores, puncture wounds and hot spots. One time Norbert jumped on the stove that hadn’t quite cooled. He burned his paws. It was the weekend (of course) and at the time we didn’t have emergency veterinary services so I sprayed his paws with Vetericyn. They had improved so much by Monday that he didn’t even need to go to the vet. I did keep them wrapped for about a week to prevent infection.  Seriously, you can save a lot of money on vet bills.

I came home today and did a little more painting. Yesterday at a second-hand store I found a cute white cabinet that will look perfect in my new room. I am reprinting it so I did a coat of primer today.  I also resanded the bed frame and primered that as well. Tomorrow I will paint and I hope that will be it. It may need a second coat. So I haven’t forgot about the pictures I have promised you. I will say it is a major and drastic change!

    • I have no idea why he does it. It’s just one spot and he doesn’t do it all the time. His whiskers will grow in all long and then he tears them out. ๐Ÿฑ

  1. You need to sleep and catch yourself up! It sounds like a good find at the store. Looking forward to pictures. Poor Norbert. I’m having problems with my Ollie too. He is throwing up. Today he was laying on me throwing up and he did it so quietly I didn’t even know. Of course on the hardest quilt to wash… must take him in to the vet. Joanne

    • I hope Ollie starts to feel better. Does he throw up more in the spring? Norbert does because he is shedding his winter coat and licking and coughing up fur balls.

  2. Where does one purchase this vetericyn? Do you need to get it from a vet to begin with? With my two silly boy cats I could probably make use of it! Norbert looks positively miserable. -Jenn

  3. I love Goodwill, thrift and antique stores. I’ve found some neat stuff over the years. I can’t wait to see your pictures.
Poor Norbert. I could hardly stand the story about burning his paws.
I sometimes wake in the night, usually around 3 or 4am, with anxiety. Not every night, but it’s such a lousy feeling.

  4. Poor Norbert. He’ll be back to his old ungrateful self in no time. Can’t wait for those pictures.

    • Pictures will be soon I hope. It is raining again so no painting today. Which is okay because I am so tired and my shoulder is giving me grief.
