Snow Day!

I did go to work this morning but called it quits after 4 hours. My car is 20 years old and dislikes snow. I’m home now. Made some 4 ingredient chocolate. Now I am sitting on the couch watching the snow fall. I know this is Canada but we rarely get snow on the west coast. Rain, but not snow. I am off work tomorrow so I don’t mind if it snows a little more. Our road hasn’t been cleared and probably won’t for a few days.

Listening to Burl Ives sing Christmas carols now. Remembering all my grandparents that have passed on, missing them. I was so blessed and lucky to have had loving and supportive grandparents. Even my step-grandparents were great.  If  could travel in time I wouldn’t go back to see the building of the pyramids or Woodstock. I would go back and spend Christmas with my grandparents and mom.

  1. It looks so pretty there. Mmm, I don’t have such good memories of my past that I can think of that I’d go back and travel in time to. Maybe for my mom’s food. That’s lame. I’m glad you’re off tomorrow so you can rest. Happy resting Birdie. Joanne

  2. Sounds lovely :o) We got a sprinkle down here too but it has quickly devolved to that ugly snow/slush/ice aftermath! Stay safe and snuggly :o)

  3. One of the best things about retirement is not having to get out on snow days and fight the traffic to work and back. Glad you got to leave early and get home to wrap yourself in warmth.

  4. I envy you the snow right now. That should put you in the spirit of Christmas! Since I’m a grandmother it warms my heart to read that you loved your grandparents so much. There can be such a strong and special bond between grandparents and grandchildren.

  5. Lovely snow pics Birdie. 10 inches of snow is being predicted for today in the upper midwest where I live. I can’t wait to see the world around me all white and glittery.

  6. It’s a winter wonderland! I’m glad you have such lovely memories of your grandparents. Burl Ives definitely has a comforting voice. I used to have a record of Burl Ives that I played over and over when I was little. -Jenn

  7. Burl Ives, he was one of my favorites. Yes, I’d go back to Christmas with my Grandparents too. Both maternal and paternal were wonderful. Lovely pictures, Birdie.

  8. I’m glad the snow is making you cheerful. I’m hoping here in the UK we don’t get any again this year because unlike you our roads never get cleared!

  9. I was only thinking yesterday that I would like a time machine. I would go back 20 years to have one more Christmas with my children. Just one more wonderful day of joy and excitement and seeing them altogether again. If I ever get one I will let you use it too.

  10. So glad to hear you’re enjoying the snow and thanks for sharing your memories. I think my Nana loved me more than anyone else on the planet.
