Hey, Rainy Day People

Just a quick post to let you know that I’m doing OK. Have been waking up sore and tired and just wanting to stay in bed but managing to get ewup every day and go to work. I am starting to look a little bit forward to Christmas.

Today I saw a new client at work. He’s a Russian man in his 90s. When I left he asked if I liked chocolate. This time of year many seniors  like to give us gifts but we’re not able to accept them. I expected him to offer me a single chocolate. Instead, he plunks down for three pounds of chocolate and wanted me to take all of it. And it was good chocolate! Lindt! Even though I’m doing a low-carb I still enjoy chocolate. I now have enough for about six months.

OK getting ready to go out for dinner with family. Thank you for all your comments on my last post. They mean so much and make me feel so supported. Namaste.

  1. What a sweet man! He must really like you.
Have a good dinner. I hope you will enjoy and not diet too much X

  2. Thank you for taking the time to let us know how you are doing. I think I would have a hard time passing up a gift of chocolate even if I wasn’t supposed to! Hang in there, you’ll continue to get through this. -Jenn

  3. I’m glad you’re feeling a little better Birdie. How nice of a new client to give you chocolates. I wouldn’t be able to have that much around me and not eat a lot at one time. I bet you’re a dynamo at your job. I’d like someone like you around when I get to that stage. Damn, I’d like it now! Joanne

  4. I just read your previous post. I haven’t made my rounds to my blogger buddies as usual lately. I’m so glad you checked in and let us know you’re hanging in there. Yummo on the chocolate. I love chocolate, too. I guess most women do. What’s not to love. 🙂 Hope you continue to feel better.

  5. I’ve only just checked in. It’s been busy. I wish I could help chase the darkness away. Stay safe my lovely Birdie. Xxx

  6. Good to read you Birdie. I too struggle with depression, anxiety and weight. Your writings always offer comfort. Thank you for that. I too am low-carbing to great effect. I find that a square or 2 of Lindt’s dark stuff, 70, 85 or 90% cocoa has very few carbs and lots of good stuff. I recently began supplementing magnesium and B vitamins and have been pleasantly surprised to find the fog lifting after several years of pretty serious depression. I began the magnesium to help balance my hormones but when I found the fog lifting I googled magnesium and depression and found that it is a thing.

You take good care of so many, please take good care of yourself.
