Down For the Count

My laptop,  that I have never really loved, is dying. It is. The screen keeps turning into this rainbow coloured fuzzy static. I touch the screen and it resets except when it doesn’t and then I have to restart and it takes about 30 minutes to get back online. Then it goes fuzzy again. It is happening more often and closer together so I decided to just buy a new device before it craps out altogether so that way I can transfer everything easily and not lose all my favourites and bookmarks. Thankfully, my husband bought me a thingy to back up all my pictures so that part is taken care of. I ended up buying an Apple product. An Apple iPad Air 2. Whatever that means. So, my point? I might disappear for a while and not post because I have no idea how to use a device without a mouse and a keyboard.

  1. Oh no!!!! It doesn’t have a keyboard??? Don’t go away for too long. I will miss you😭😄

  2. Have you used an ipad before? I just bought myself a laptop. I didn’t spend big bucks and it isn’t too bad. It is light weight (not probably not like the iPad Air). One of the first things I want to do is store our pictures on some other device because I wonder how long our old traditional computer with tower and monitor will hold out. I think you will probably quite love your new technology! Have fun! -Jenn

  3. I can’t function without a separate mouse and keyboard. I think that’s the reason why I haven’t gotten a touch pad screen.

Oh, by the way, I’m heavily medicated for everyone’s protection now. So I’m good.

  4. I’ve only ever used Apple products, they are very user friendly so I’m sure you’ll get the hang on it, although I struggled with the ipad for a while!

  5. I’ve been on an iPad for years! I love it, only mine is several years old now and starting to slow down etc.
My daughter is a slob! She was awful as a kid too! I hope you enjoy your days off, girlie!

  6. I’m sure you’ll get used to it eventually. A keyboard is something that I really need. I type very quickly on it and I can’t do that on these tiny little built-in keyboard thingies. Although I have a tablet and do love it.

  7. This is Lolly I have tried to respond to this post of yours 3 times! Each time word press kicks me out! I HATE TECHNOLOGY!!! So sorry this is happening to you Birdie. I’m still not over the fact that I lost 4 years worth of my pictures when my hard drive crashed. Maybe we should just go back to the old way of doing things…Just give me your phone number and we’ll talk on the phone from now on 🙂 Best of luck to you.

  8. I have an ipad air. The air part means it’s linked to a cell phone number and you can use it that way when there’s no access to wi-fi. I love that. Park your car on some distant hilltop and you can write in peace. I’ve also used it to create a “Hotspot Wi-Fi” at our new place of business. Big surprise that we had no internet here. It’s finally going to be connected next week. Lastly, I bought an i-pad case with a plastic keyboard that connects by blue tooth. You should be all set.

  9. I have a tablet and bought a killer keyboard to go with it as part of the case. I love writing on this screen and keys. Very comfortable. I can also use a mouse, if I wish. I think you can do the same with ipads but I’m not 100 percent sure.
