First Assignment Completed

Yesterday I handed in my first English assignment and now I am working on my first biology assignment. And has learning ever changed dramatically since I graduated 26 years ago! It is actually amazing. So far, everything is interactive. I just worked on the parts of a cell by dragging and dropping the parts that belong and removing the parts that don’t. How cool is that? There are little videos that take you through each part.

That last paragraph took me 2 1/2 days to write. I have been busy trying to get my first two assignments in on time. (I am late starting.) I just got out of the tub and shaved my legs for the first time since November. Surprisingly, the tub didn’t clog but it should have. And I got out all my summer pyjamas out of storage and will start putting away the winter ones. Soon I will take the flannel sheets off the bed and replace them with cotton. Ahhh!

Tomorrow I start Hormone Replacement Therapy. I really have no idea what to expect. Can anyone fill me in?

With that, I am off to bed. I start at 7:45 tomorrow instead of 7:00 and I intend to enjoy those extra 45 minutes of sleep!

  1. It sounds as if you are enjoying this new learning experience and methods, Birdie, this is great. 🙂 As for the hormone replacement therapy…I cannot help you there. I am 58 now, and my menopause began just before my 47th birthday and I chose to take it naturally, no HRT for me. I wish you all the best.

  2. Sounds like you enjoy learning. Me too.

As for the hormone replacement, what type are you taking? Premarin turned me into a crazy lady. Now I use estradot patches and prometrium. I feel human again. Very few hot flashes, much less brain fog and I sleep better as well. I was getting about two flashes an hour and they would leave me so dizzy that I had to sit down. I feel much better now. Hope the hormones help Birdie. Take care.

  3. My Dr. offered me Premarin samples. I came home and Googled it for the side effects and promptly threw it all in the garbage. Note to Birdie-Don’t Google it. Seriously, don’t do it. I’m going on 7 years…YES, 7 years of hot flashes and weight gain and brain fog. Take the HRT. I bet it helps alot!

    • I meant don’t Google it. The internet can scare the beegeezus out of a person. I talked to my Dr. AFTER I had thrown them out and she gave me more information that eased my fears…but at this point I figure I am just going to keep doing without it.

  4. In my experience you will have fewer and less powerful hot flashes. Better urinary continence. Better mental health and clarity of thought.
    That’s just the beginning.

  5. Celebrate getting your first assignment done! That is awesome. I’m glad you’re enjoying your biology class; biology is so cool.
