Well, I am on my two days off and I am so glad to be home. I love, love, love my home. It is my haven. It is my church; my place to be still and my place to worship

My back is still really sore but I managed to plug through my day. Sometimes the Universe puts us where we need to be because my last client of the day was Sikh. I do not know what it is but I love going into Sikh homes. They are always the most peaceful, the people most kind and gracious. I was fortunate to be able to sit while my client dozed and able to soak up the peace. If you have never looked into Sikhism, it is a beautiful belief system. It is very close to what Quakers believe. (For those of you that do not know, I am a Quaker.)

I am now home and listening to this which I found on a blog I found quite by accident.

I hope you enjoy it. Remember to take time to be still throughout this hectic time of the year. Breathe, dear ones.

  1. What perfect timing. I have never known any Sikhs but their religion is intriguing.
I have been sitting and knitting and reminding myself to relax my jaw for the past two hours. I should remind myself to breathe as well.
    Thank you for all.

  2. I would be interested in hearing more about Quakers in any of your future posts, if you care to share. Thanks for sharing this video, I am listening to it now. 🙂

  3. Peace and holiday blessing to you and your family. Loved The Great Bell Chant, thanks for sharing it with us.

  4. Thank you for your very kind comment on my blog. Losing our mothers…I appreciate that you understand. Best wishes and happy holidays

  5. Oh, I love that video. Thank you so much for posting it. I know quite a few Sikhs here in Los Angeles, because I’ve long gone to a Kundalini yoga studio and there are many that practice that particular type of yoga. They do seem peaceful and nearly innocent in their endeavors — quite a feat when you consider this city that we live in! I hope you have a restful holiday — and thanks, again, for that gorgeous video.

  6. I too would love to hear more about your Quaker practices in a future post if you’re up for it. I’ve looked into it on the internet but have never known a practicing Quaker myself. Last night I fell asleep to your bell chanting video.

Question for you…I linked this post to one of mine (my I Have No Home post) but wasn’t sure what to use as your name. On your blog is says the author is Birdie, but in your comment bar you’re Serenity Seaking. Do you have a preference, or would you prefer I refer to your blog name instead? I can go with whatever you want…I know you’ve had privacy issues in the past and don’t want to cause problems for you.

    Hugs and merry Xmas!
