One Thing…

In my blog I talk a lot about depression. There is no doubt in my mind that being Highly Sensitive plays a part in that. There are however things that I love about being Highly Sensitive and this is one of many.

Music. There is music that touches me so deeply I feel like my heart will burst with the beauty of it.  It isn’t just the shivers that run down my spine or goosebumps on my arms. It is this feeling of wanting to fell down and worship the earth in all its beauty. Oh, my god. There is so much sadness and heartbreak. There is so much anger and hatred but there is this opposite.  Perfection in the beauty of the earth. Music. Friendship that we bloggers show to one another, people that we have never met nor likely will. Do you see it? Can you feel it? This. This is what keeps me believing that there is so much hope for the broken. Let’s keep believing that it can happen. That we all can get along.

Tonight, this instrumental of the song Yellow by Coldplay….

  1. I frequently despair at the human race – and then I am reminded (again and again) that there are also some ftuly wonderful inspirational people… I am not certain that it is balanced – but the beauty, the wonder and the magic IS there.
Sadly, music doesn’t really do it for me. I listen, some I enjoy, but it doesn’t affect me as it does you…

  2. I agree with you totally. I know about being highly sensitive.. and as for Music?… YesI feel it too.. love ‘Yellow’ btw

  3. Music. It can lift you up and it can hold you down. My ears are still ringing from the Crüe concert on Tuesday.
Coldplay. I’d love Chris Martin to write ME a song!

  4. Music is all I listen to now. TV news and online news makes me sad for the planet earth and the people. Music calms my soul and makes me sing. I forget all the bad in the world when I listen to it. I know it’s like the ostrich with its head in the sand. But when you are old like me, you get so tired of the crap out there in the world.

  5. Your music posts are always my favorites, birdie. A long time ago you introduced me to motets on your blog, and they were SUCH a wonderful thing to discover. Thank you! I hope you’re feeling at least a little better today. (((hugs)))
