Listening to Adele

Adele is cranked on my earbuds because my husband is watching the news and it is just causing me anxiety. And I am reminded of this which I have posted before,

“In the best of times, our days are numbered anyway. So it would be a crime against nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things that we were designed in the first place: the opportunity to do good work, to enjoy friends, to fall in love, to hit a ball, and to bounce a baby.” Alistar Cooke

Today I feel a cold coming on so I am an taking Cold Fx and staying in and trying to keep warm. I was silly enough to go out to the grocery store earlier and get some things for Thanksgiving. The stores were crazy busy. I did get a good deal on a turkey though.

For the next ten weeks at TOPS we are doing a challenge. Mine is to do 30 minutes of cardio at least four days out of seven. I did an hour today on the Wii and could I get any more disgusting? Women are supposed to sweat like this…

sweatI look like this…

I am not kidding. I have to change my bra after and it weighs about 5 pounds. So gross. And for all of this? I am stuck in a plateau and can’t seem to break this 10 pound mark. meh

My music is so loud right now and I know my mom would telling me that it is going to destroy my hearing. Now I am listening to Lorde because she can only be listened to very, very loud to really feel the music.

I had to turn down my music to watch the news. It has been a very dry summer so there are some men that are physically carrying salmon up a part of the steam that has dried up. Some days I hate people. Other days, I love them so much. This is one of those days.

  1. Omg I’m the same way with the news. You know what? When I read it, I can handle what I can handle. Watching it is different. May I recommend Matt Nathanson? Good and upbeat. And good. I’m distracted by Lorde. It’s the lipstick. I love Adele but she rocks my soul in the crying way. Michael Franti is good and cheerful too. Good tunes to go deaf to.
    I should blog.

  2. I Love that quote!. So true!. Hope you feel better soon 🙂 My music is loud in my headphones.. its how I ‘zone out’. Adele is great.

  3. It’s good to drown out the bad news! Sorry to hear you aren’t feeling too well. Freshly grated ginger, strained and made into a tea with a little lemon juice and honey helps me a lot when I feel a cold coming on.

  4. Humans are indeed a strange species. We have the ability to do great harm and to do great kindness. Sweat’s good for you. My bra gets soaked and my panties. TMI?

  5. Maybe I’m going too gently on the treadmill! I’ll be measuring my effort by the amount of sweat from now on. I tend to just do a little bit and tick the box, don’t want to wear myself out or cause an injury. Yep that is so right, people suck and they rock….it’s hard to remember the good sometimes.

  6. Keep at it with the cardio – it pays off and helps with the anxiety. Keep building the time up and you’ll see results. And yes, we all sweat like pigs during this stuff!
